An Interior for a Church

An interior fit out for a church I've been working on for a year. This building was a large shed, and now it has been all kitted out to offer all of the services a growing Church needs.
Some before images

The brief was for an auditorium in deep purple, and for the other community areas to be energising. All materials and colours needed to be fit for commercial use. I presented a colour scheme of deep grape, apple green, bright orange and steel grey. The end result.
Main entrance

Entrance from foyer through to the auditorium. I just couldn't get the grape colour to show properly in the picture.

Stage in the auditorium.

Kitchen and mingling area.

A damn fine coffee machine.

What a fantastic children's play area!

This building comprises of some offices, a meeting room, mothers feeding room, special needs room, multi functional room, kitchen, children's playground, the main auditorium and a loft teen hangout. Some great areas for the programs delivered here.

This is the lovely Anne Buchanan who, along with her husband Jim, were the driving force behind this project. They completed much of the work themselves and were such a pleasure to deal with. Good luck with the future, it looks very bright!

Images of Summer

My holidays are over and I think that always feels like about the end of summer. I've spent the time putting the final touches on my new home office, seeing friends and family and at a most beautiful wedding. I hope yours was fantastic however you passed it!

The shed is finished!

Quite a long time ago now... near 12 months... I posted about a project I had going on here. To build a multi-purpose space in the back yard. Well now it is finished and below are the results.
I'm most happy about how this once dead area is now being constantly used. My husband and I used to find we rarely went into our garden, apart from a quick stroll to check that the plants are alive. This has been so great to get us using this area! We've had two Christmas events in the entertaining space, the gym is used everyday and the other end suits whatever project I have going on at the time. Right now its a painting zone.

If you read the first post you will note I was pretty bummed about having to compromise on the cladding. The more I looked into the more I didn't want to go with the man-made products - I really didn't want to paint the boards and I couldn't find myself warming to the look. But persevere and ye shall find! A local timber supplier had a batch of hardwood decking that had a few saw marks in it, making it unsuitable for that purpose but totally right for us. And at 1/3 of the price of the hardwood we had looked at we snapped those up!

Thanks for stopping by, Sarah xx

An inspiring birthday party, by three!

Today I have some pic's for you from a birthday I went to on the weekend. It is all the handiwork of one very talented friend, Renae, who created the most gorgeous party for the first birthday of her twins, Clementine and Iris, and 7 year old niece Winifred. She wanted to put on a big party not just to celebrate the birthday of these little ladies but also to thank family and friends for all of the help in the last year (she suddenly had three girls under 18 months!). It was such a beautiful day with a great crowd and so many decorating details to take in! Lots of work and imagination on Renae's part.
What a cake table! So many sweets to choose from.

The take home gifts. Gold for the birthday girls. The number ones were hand made as were the cutest animal jars.

I just love the prowling tigers on the table. They didn't scare any of the children from the sweets though!

Renae and her darling husband Kurt with the girls and Winnie hiding behind the cake

So much dedication to the colour theme, an orange, green, pink and yellow layer cake!

The take home gifts weren't just for the children, I had to get my hands on some as well! The simple and oh so right invite.
Some things it appears I neglected to take photos of
- A champagne bar for the adults
- Bubble blowers for the kids
- Home made chocolate and marshmallow stirrers that instantly turned hot milk into an amazing drink. So clever! These were for everyone!

A vintage wedding in Bunninyong - Part 2

And for some more pictures!
Photo board of the ceremony overseas.

Self service food table. We kept pumpkin soup warm in slow cookers which was a great hit on a cold winters night.

Mr & Mrs arrive!

Tossing the bouquet

And the lucky catcher.. I think she has a few years to wait!
Drinks table.
The beautiful Bride!
And if you are wondering about the stunning feather pieces you are seeing on the Bride and as the cake topper, they are made by the very talented Faith Valent of Feathers by Faith. Her pieces looked just incredible and she was kind enough to let me have one to wear!
Congratulations again Charlotte, it was so fantastic to have a part in planning your and creating a memory for you. All my love xx
